Robert F. Blake Art Scholarship Fund
The Robert F. Blake Art Scholarship Fund is designed to help a high school graduate in the city of Cranston with an art background pursue continuing education in an art career. All funds raised from our children's art classes, after school workshops and high school senior portfolio assistance programs will go directly towards the Robert F. Blake Art Scholarship Fund.
Robert F. Blake (1966-2005) was a lifelong Cranston resident. He was a student in the Cranston School System throughout his educational career in which afterwards he continued his education at Roger Williams University in electrical engineering. While his career choice was far from an art background Robert did possess two aspects that would support this scholarship. Robert loved kids and he loved helping people. To carry on his legacy of compassion in a need to help others is the ultimate tribute in his honor.

Kelly Theis
On May 20, 2015 R&M Studios awarded its first recipient of the Robert F. Blake Art Scholarship Fund to Kelly Theis. Kelly was chosen to receive this scholarship because she exhibits characteristics that we truly admire. We respect the countless hours of volunteer work Kelly has given as this demonstrates to us that hard work is something which she values. We commend her passion to be involved with her school and community. Kelly is a member of the yearbook staff at her school and she is a member of the Interscholastic Equestrian Association. She plays the piano and she is a designated babysitter for several families in her community. As an Advanced Art student for the last four years Kelly not only is a member of the National Honor Society but also she was a contestant in the Jack Reed Art Contest. Her artwork has also been nominated for a Scholastic Art Award and she comes highly recommended by her school counselor and current visual arts teacher. We couldn't be more proud to award this scholarship to a more deserving young lady. The first recipient of the Robert F. Blake Art Scholarship Fund is someone my children and I will never forget. Congratulations to Kelly Thies and best of luck in everything you do!!
